From start to finish handcrafted soaps are just that, handcrafted. When the soaps come out of the mold they have to be cut, then shaped. I smooth off the tops of the soaps with a cheese planer, then I bevel the edges. The byproduct of this handcrafted process is scraps! I hand mold these scraps into soap balls and then I select pretty shavings and put them in bags of "soap potpourri". Each bag of shavings contains a soap ball, as well. Shavings and soap balls make sweet little aromatic displays in your bathroom as well as single serve guest soaps.
